Amanda Holman

Contemporary Australian Landscape Painter

Amanda Holman is an emerging Australian artist based in Central West NSW, renowned for her evocative landscape paintings that capture the ever-changing beauty of rural Australia. Inspired by the luminous light, shifting seasons, and vast natural scenery of the Orange region, Amanda’s work reflects a deep appreciation for the Australian landscape, reminiscent of the early Australian Impressionists.

After a successful career managing her own building design business in the city, Amanda rediscovered her passion for painting following a colour and design course in 2014–2015. A move back to the country in 2018 provided her with the perfect setting to immerse herself in the rural environment, where she draws inspiration from the rich colours and atmospheric light of Central West NSW.

Amanda has established herself as a respected artist within the Australian art scene, exhibiting in prominent group exhibitions across Orange, Blayney, Moree, Tamworth, Brisbane, and Cowra. Her solo exhibition at The Corner Store Gallery in Orange in April 2024 marked a significant milestone in her artistic journey.

Her work has gained recognition in numerous prestigious art prizes, including:

  • Finalist – Corner Store Gallery Landscape Prize (2022, 2024)

  • Finalist – Mudgee Arts Precinct (MAP) Portrait Prize (2022, 2024)

  • Finalist – Hunters Hill Art Prize (2022, 2023, 2024)

  • Finalist – Lethbridge Small Works Art Prize (2023)

  • Winner – Cabonne Acquisitive Art Prize (2021)

  • Highly Commended – Lachlan Valley Biennial Art Prize (2023)

Amanda’s background in building design and interior decoration informs her artistic practice, bringing a strong understanding of composition, colour, and spatial harmony to her paintings. She holds a Diploma in Building Design, an iscd Certificate IV in Design, and an iscd Diploma in Creative Visual Arts (specialising in Interior Decoration).

Her artworks are sought after by collectors across Australia, offering a unique blend of traditional impressionistic techniques with a contemporary sensitivity to light and mood.
