Andrea Kirkham-Hopgood - In a Mood
Online Exhibition Dates: June 28th - July 11th
Online Sales Launch: 8pm June 28th
Andrea Kirkham-Hopgood is a Melbourne-based Australian artist whose luminous oil paintings explore the subtle beauty of the landscape through light, atmosphere, and memory. Working from her own photographic references, she distils familiar roads, landmarks, and natural environments into carefully composed paintings that balance technical precision with emotional resonance.
Executed in oil on canvas, her work demonstrates a deep understanding of colour, tone, and traditional painting techniques. Whether intimate in scale or expansive in format, each painting invites viewers to pause and reflect on the experience of moving through the landscape - the anticipation of a journey, the comfort of return, and the enduring connection between people and place.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Education in Art and Craft and balances her studio practice with teaching, workshops, demonstrations, and judging. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs across Australia and is held in private and public collections both nationally and internationally. She has been a finalist in several respected art prizes, including the Lethbridge Art Prize and the John Leslie Art Prize.
