Madeline experiments with many different artistic mediums but her strengths lie in traditional and alternative photography as well as printmaking. The long, meditative process is what attracts her to these art forms, letting the works build and grow as they are made. Her work focuses on the process rather than the concept. She looks to texture, pattern and detail to create abstraction in normally recognisable forms.
This years exhibition "Noise" is based on signal interruption on digital televisions. She has taken photographs of the screen and manipulated and distorted them into colourful, graphic digital images. The images are then screen-printed and etched incorporating other mediums to add colour and texture.
