Since its establishment in 2014, The Corner Store Gallery has been a beacon of creativity in Orange (Wiradjuri Country), one of NSW’s premier food and wine destinations. Independently run and passionately curated, our space is dedicated to nurturing both emerging and established artists and designers across a rich spectrum of creative mediums.

At The Corner Store Gallery, we believe in the power of art and creativity to enrich lives and build communities. Through a diverse array of exhibitions, workshops, pop-ups, and community events, we provide a dynamic platform for artists to showcase their work and connect with audiences from near and far.

Here at The Corner Store Gallery, since 2014, we've proudly provided a platform for artists and designers from across Australia to showcase their work, offering a blank slate for expression and innovation.

Nestled within the vibrant regional community of Orange, our independently run gallery occupies the charming space of a century-old corner store. With its bright, intimate atmosphere and large windows bathing the interior in natural light, our gallery boasts prime street frontage, inviting passersby to explore the wealth of creativity within.

At The Corner Store Gallery, we're passionate about promoting contemporary art and design in all its forms. Our mission is to cultivate a love for the creative process and its diverse outcomes within the Orange and Central West community. Whether you're an established artist or a rising talent, we provide a range of flexible gallery rental options to suit your needs.

We're always on the lookout for exciting exhibitions, pop-ups, and workshops to feature in our space. If you're interested in showcasing your work, we encourage you to submit your application, including a comprehensive body of work and high-quality photos. Details can be found below.

Selection Criteria

Submissions will be judged on the following qualities:

  • Originality

  • Concept

  • The quality of your work

  • Marketability

  • Cohesiveness

  • Being a good fit for our business and audience

The Small Print

  • The Corner Store Gallery takes a 37% commission for GST registered artists and 40% for non-GST registered artists

  • Commission rate can be discounted for artists who staff their own exhibitions - inquiries to Gallery Director

  • Exhibitions are rent free

  • Rental fees apply to pop up shops and workshops, contact Madi for more information

  • We require artists, once their proposal has been accepted, to sign an artist agreement outlining artist and gallery's rights and responsibilities

Inclusions

  • Curation and installation by Gallery Director

  • Staffing of gallery by Gallery Director

  • Artwork professionally photographed by Gallery Director

  • Online shop listing for each artwork

  • Promotion across all digital platforms; newsletter, Instagram, Facebook, website

  • Advertising on Arts OutWest website, Orange 360 and Visit Orange tourism guides

  • Professional photo shoot with Gallery Director Madeline Young (for solo exhibitions only) and interview artist feature on our blog and across all digital platforms

  • Gallery designed e-invites for artist distribution

  • Exhibition catalogue for group and solo exhibitions

  • Exhibition opening events for group and solo exhibitions, beverages included. Optional catering is charged to the artist

  • Documentation of exhibition and archiving on gallery website

Required Information

When completing your proposal be sure to include the following information:

  • Name(s) of artist(s) and contact details; email, phone number, website and Instagram handle

  • Artist CV

  • Artist bio and statement

  • Artwork details, minimum 5 recent artworks (2023 or 2024 only)

  • Images of detailed artworks

  • Preferred month of exhibition (February to June)
