Falling Leaves - an exhibition by Margie Hedley of Four Seasons Silver - Studio & Design, Orange NSW
Opening Night: Friday May 11th from 6pm
Business Hours: Thursday - Saturday 10am - 5pm | Sunday 10am - 2.30pm
Margie Hedley is a passionate artist and art educator who has worked in and around art her entire life when not flying aeroplanes. She established and ran the Giddy Goanna Gallery in Mudgee, before training as a silversmith, designing and exhibiting her works in NSW and WA. She then entered the world of teaching where she spent the next 30 years.
This exhibition marks a return to her passion for precious metal design and crafting. It is inspired by the colours, shapes and natural beauty of autumn in Orange and its surrounds. Margie has used patinas to bring out the particular autumn tones we see at this time of year. Her pieces of jewellery and hollowware are handcrafted using the traditional techniques of raising, forging, saw-piercing and etching.
Margie will run workshops Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during the exhibition where you can come along and make a ring, earrings or pendant. SEE EVENTS CALENDAR FOR DETAILS AND BOOKINGS.
The exhibition, which runs from May 7th to May 20th at The Corner Store Gallery, 382 Summer Street Orange NSW will be officially opened on May 11th by Margie’s close friend and fellow artist, Marina Mason. A renowned sculptor and painter, originally from Orange, now based in Melbourne, Marina has been exhibiting works at galleries throughout NSW and Victoria for over 20 years. www.marinamason.com.au
