Pippita Bennett is a contemporary textile artist based in Katoomba, nestled within Dharug and Gundungurra Country in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Inspired by the landscapes she explores, Pippita captures her experiences through stitched landscapes, creating intricate, tactile representations of place.
Working with natural dyes, she gathers plants to infuse her threads and fabrics with the colours of the land, embedding nature itself into her work. Whether stitching by the fire with a cup of tea or tracing the lines of trees, rocks, and animal prints with needle and thread, her process is one of deep observation and connection. Beginning with simple stitches, she allows her needle to lead the way, creating intuitive and organic compositions.
Pippita’s background in architecture and fine arts—studied at the University of Sydney’s Tin Sheds—informs her keen eye for form, texture, and structure. Currently pursuing a Master of Art Therapy, she continues to explore the intersection of art, nature, and wellbeing.
Pippita’s work has been exhibited in solo shows at Corner Store Gallery, Orange and Scratch Art Space, Marrickville as well as in group exhibitions at Floral Ink, Wentworth Falls, and The Corner Store Gallery, Orange.
