Loom Weaving Workshop
WARNING! There are an excessive amount of photos in this post! I thought I'd share a few pics from our recent Loom Weaving for Beginners Workshop at the gallery. 12 lovely ladies gathered at the gallery on a particularly miserable, wet, cold day to learn how to make Woven Wall Hangings. Tea was drunk, several different knots and techniques were mastered and lots of colourful yarn was thrown around. Everyone got to take home their very own Australian-made loom to finish off their project. Everyone makes such unique pieces with the same skill set, it's a beautiful thing. See some of the amazing work below.
TESTIMONIALS:
"A great workshop with everything we needed so nicely laid out, Maddie was very helpful and explained everything so that it was all easy to do, loved it!!!"
"The workshop was excellently run. As a beginner I learnt a huge amount and will continue to use these skills I learnt in the worshop. I'll definitely be looking to attend more workshops in the future. Madi was an excellent host and helped out heaps. The materials provided had a great range and I had an awesome time learning new things. Overall a great workshop. "
"Madi was a great instructor at the Loom weaving afternoon at The Corner Store Gallery. Very well set up, instructive and fun. We all were so engrossed the time just flew by... Also delicious catering was supplied to keep the energy flowing... Highly recommend the class which is very popular, and the instructor is very helpful, knows her subject, relaxed and a pleasure to be taught by... Loom weaving becomes obsessive. Hard to put down... Just one more row and another etc... Also with instructions and the frame can carry on making more at home ... a very worthwhile workshop."
