Where: The Corner Store Gallery, 382 Summer Street, Orange
What you'll get: a crochet hook to take home, yarn to practice with, an information booklet and plenty of tea, coffee and snacks to sustain you for the 2.5 hours of crafty fun!
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 2-part workshop, you will need to be available for both dates!
Crochet is seriously addictive, it's something you can pick up and put down anytime and once you know the basics the world is your oyster! If you're interested in learning how to crochet you've probably had a look at some patterns in magazines or online and thought "What?! I don't understand!" It can be quite daunting but once you know how to get started you'll never stop!
On the first evening of this 2-part workshop you'll learn how to hold your crochet hook and yarn - sounds simple but can be quite tricky.... You'll also learn the basic stitches and how to read basic patterns. You'll have one week to practice these stitches so we can learn how to crochet a granny square in the second part. You'll learn how to make basic granny squares from a pattern and how to change yarn colours.
The class size will be small to maximise learning potential, so don't leave it too late to book!
This workshop is taught by Madeline Holborow, The Corner Store Gallery director. Madeline has a degree in Fine Arts and over 7 years experience of teaching art and craft workshops and classes.
