Kate Pittas is a contemporary landscape painter based in Brisbane/Meanjin. Her practice is a response to & exploration of the Australian bush, through thick layers of paint and expressive marks & colours.

Having studied Fine Arts at university, Kate taught Visual Arts in Sydney high schools for 10 years. This gave her the opportunity to immerse herself further into art history and expand her knowledge of materials. Since leaving the classroom, Kate has been painting & showing her work full time for almost a decade.

“The vast & changing Australian Bush landscape is a place where I feel connected to something greater than myself. My relationship with the bush is evolving, and I explore this through my practice. 'Finding Joy' is a celebration of both the palette of the outback, with pinks & earthy rusts as much as it is the feeling of being free in nature. Pink is a healing colour and one we associate with positive connections and emotions. My experience in the bush, & one I seek to convey on canvas is that of healing and restoration.”

Artwork is available for collection or shipping after the closing date of the exhibition, December 2nd 2023.

We charge a flat rate of $35 for all artworks within Australia, with an additional $5 added for each extra artwork purchased through our online store. All artworks are insured and come safely packaged. Any artwork marked for CUSTOM SHIPPING is either too large, too heavy or too delicate to ship with our flat rate and will need a custom shipping invoice.

All online artwork sales are final and no refunds or returns will be accepted.
