Colour, shape, pattern, repetition, harmony, discord, balance and texture are fundamental elements. Removing an object or subject from the work allows these elements to be the primary reason for creating. The work then becomes a mind game of problem solving.

Sandra McMahon started her career as a Visual Arts teacher/ lecturer at NSW TAFE for 8 years before moving into the gallery sector where she worked across a range of positions at 3 Regional Galleries and 3 Commercial Galleries in NSW and ACT. She holds a Diploma of Visual Arts (TAFE), a Graduate Diploma in Art History and Curating (ANU), and a Diploma of Management (UNEP), Cert IV in Training Assessment and Education (TCC) and is a registered Art Valuer under the Australian Governments Cultural Gifts Program. 

Sandra uses the basic principle and elements of design to create work that responds to a minimalist philosophy, to a purified truth of form. Tensions and sanctuaries of spacing between the shapes themselves ensures that the work is not pretending to be anything other than what it is; order, simplicity, and harmony of form.

Sandra is also interested the emotional effect colour can have on space and endeavours to produce work that is resolved and visually pleasing.

Artwork is available for collection or shipping within 7 days of purchase.

We charge a flat rate of $35 for all artworks within Australia, with an additional $5 added for each extra artwork purchased through our online store. All artworks are insured and come safely packaged. Any artwork marked for CUSTOM SHIPPING is either too large, too heavy or too delicate to ship with our flat rate and will need a custom shipping invoice.

All online artwork sales are final and no refunds or returns will be accepted.
