Guest Curator Prue Swain

I get so much joy out of these Guest Curations. Prue Swain is next in line, she is an Orange local with excellent and interesting taste in art. Prue often chooses unusual and colourful pieces that tell a story. We are so excited to share Prue’s collection with you, I am always surprised and delighted with what she chooses.

Prue Swain is a born and bred country girl originally from Warren. She moved to Orange in 2009 and settled down and now has three children (Wally, Alfie and Daisy).

Prue is the owner of Hive Orange, the regions first dedicated co-working space that has been purposed designed for the cross pollination of people, projects and purpose. Hive 2 recently opened on Kite Street, a space with permanent office suites.

Prue and her family have recently finished the renovation of a 19th Century Gothic Mansion in Newcastle NSW Mister Brooks on Brown which now available for holiday bookings, photoshoots and collaboration opportunities. We here at The Corner Store Gallery were lucky enough to be consulted on the art collection for the Newcastle property which has been featured in Inside Out Magazine. Head to the Mister Brown website to see pictures of the beautiful property!

“My curation represents the diversity of places I live, work and play. Some I can imagine hanging at Hive and providing creative inspiration to our professionals, whilst others I can see filling the walls at the Newcastle house and offsetting the salty, costal air. All of them, however, could easily find a home where we live at the farm, where one room at a time I’m turning the old country house into a place full of my favourite things!” - Prue Swain.
