Throughout the recent seven month drought in the South West of WA, these purple beauties were the only thing that flowered in my garden. Struggling as they were, I bought some inside and gave them a much needed drink. They flourished for days. I was so inspired not only to paint them in a still life but also place them with a view to the outside, dreaming of the rains that would bring my much loved garden back to life.

Based in Margaret River, Amanda paints fulltime in her home studio overlooking the bush. Inspired by the beauty and calm of the familiar, Amanda selects personal treasures and overlooked objects, thereby embedding memories in her still life and interior compositions. Amanda takes inspiration from those simple moments when light passes through a piece of glass or reflection is noted causing her to pause, calm and see the beauty of the everyday.

Upon close inspection of Amanda’s art, textured brush marks give her a remaining visual presence in the work. Focussing on light and shadow, Amanda often includes elements from her garden, with a desire that the viewer feel a more personal connection to the work. In 2023 Amanda was a finalist in the Unearthed Art Prize at Art to Art, in Melbourne. She has been exhibited and a finalist in multiple group shows and a 2022 finalist in the Lethbridge 20000 Salon des Refuses and The Little things Art Prize.

We charge a flat rate of $35 for all artworks within Australia, with an additional $5 added for each extra artwork purchased through our online store. All artworks are insured and come safely packaged. Any artwork marked for CUSTOM SHIPPING is either too large, too heavy or too delicate to ship with our flat rate and will need a custom shipping invoice.
