Melinda Giblett is an Australian artist whose paintings navigate ancient landscapes seeking the unique qualities of land and Country. She revels in the transformative effects of working directly from life; seeking to preserve the significance of landscapes through her practice.

Melinda is known for her expressive paintings and drawings of Australian deserts and bush-her process locating intimate visual splendour in the unexpected. With gestural yet gentle brushwork she embraces chance in the act of making marks, pursues the revelatory possibilities of colour and finds equilibrium between sparsity and abundance.
Melinda is a graduate of COFA-UNSW-College of Fine Arts (UNSW Art & Design) and has undertaken significant residencies at Bundanon, Broken Hill and Italy. Melinda is represented by galleries in Sydney, Canberra and in the regions of NSW. Her work is held in international and private collections across Australia.

This work began on country in Ikara (Flinders Ranges- South Australia) in sketches, colour studies and words. It delights in ancient geological formation, harnesses the power and distortion of memory, and firmly locates the outback as both a personal and communally significant 'place' through the felt experience of being on country.

Artwork is available for collection or shipping after the closing date of the exhibition, September 22nd 2024.

We charge a flat rate of $35 for all artworks within Australia, with an additional $5 added for each extra artwork purchased through our online store. All artworks are insured and come safely packaged. Any artwork marked for CUSTOM SHIPPING is either too large, too heavy or too delicate to ship with our flat rate and will need a custom shipping invoice.

All online artwork sales are final and no refunds or returns will be accepted.
