Based on Awabakal country in the Newcastle area, Bernadette has a background in jewellery and object design, but recently shifted focus to figurative painting in acrylics. Her works are explorations in light and composition, inspired by quiet moments in everyday life.

What we didn’t know at the time is that the small moments we shared were more important than we realised. The casual meals, a pub lunch, quick dinner or just a coffee, were part of what held us together. Every meal should have the reverence of a ritual or sacrament, small moments becoming treasured memories.
