Sophie’s art is inspired by her upbringing in a small farming community in NSW and her experiences living in cities around the world, including Paris. Now based in Orange with her husband and two young daughters, she captures the essence of regional and rural communities through her vibrant, colourful acrylic paintings. Her work contrasts the charm of rural life with the energy of urban landscapes, blending humour, nostalgia, and a celebration of suburban and regional identities. Featured in galleries across Australia, Sophie was a finalist in the 2024 Regional Landscape Art Prize and the 2023 Jumbled Art Competition.

'Magnolias, Mozzies, Cricket, and Cockies' celebrates the unique simplicity of the Australian verandah—its tranquillity, whimsical charm, and serenity—until the cockies start screeching, and the mozzies arrive for a feast.
