The genre of my work is still life. The vessels I paint from my studio all have their own quirks and personalities. I bought this little stoneware ink pot from a op-shop years ago. He is humble, unassuming and quietly confident. He appears often in my compositions. I hope my work brings a calm joy to my viewers. I’m inspired by the subdued colours and the timeless sense of hushed contemplation of Morandi’s still lifes.
