My friend sculptor Carol Crawford has a studio where the warm afternoon light streams in through sash windows to dance upon her various worktables and works in progress. At times it can be biblical in high contrast.

Leonie Barton is an emerging artist living rurally in the Mid North Coast area, currently focusing on abstract painting. Working in oil, wax and pigments, the paintings capture shapes in the landscape, both natural and manmade. Through the process of applying multiple matt layers, bringing some shapes forward whilst others recede, the original representation of the subject disappears.
