Jane Tonks is a regional artist living on Wiradjuri Country, Orange NSW. Jane has a Diploma of Fine Arts and specialises in large, contemporary, expressive landscape painting and various forms of printmaking. Jane's work focuses on connection to landscape and the importance of biodiversity and conservation of the natural environment.

This little painting features two of my favourite things; The fleeting golden light of late afternoon and the beautiful bush landscape of Mullion Range along Ophir Road, just outside of Orange. This road takes the traveller to Ophir Reserve, renown for being the site of the first payable gold discovered in Australia in 1851.
