Rhi Johnson is an artist and educator based in Queensland, Australia who works primarily in the fields of printmaking, painting, and artist books. She is interested in the formation of everyday narratives, and how these can be disrupted or subverted visually. She investigates objects, signs, or other visual cues that can punctuate an environment, object or space of perceived meaning, and in doing so, may allude to subconscious methods of processing information.

'Pass' is part of an ongoing series of works which deal with urban exploration, abandoned or neglected spaces, and public detritus. The intention of these works is to visually investigate sites that exist in plain sight while being overlooked for an extended period of time. The urban status of the scenes depicted infers human intervention and related intention. I am interested in the narrative which occupies the space between these two states. This narrative remains open-ended, and as the artist, I seek to invite viewers to form links between the visual content of the work and their own memories and experiences of urban environments.

Artwork is available for collection or shipping after the closing date of the exhibition, September 22nd 2024.

We charge a flat rate of $35 for all artworks within Australia, with an additional $5 added for each extra artwork purchased through our online store. All artworks are insured and come safely packaged. Any artwork marked for CUSTOM SHIPPING is either too large, too heavy or too delicate to ship with our flat rate and will need a custom shipping invoice.

All online artwork sales are final and no refunds or returns will be accepted.
