Jo is an artist painting with oils. Her work is inspired by both the beautiful natural environment of the South West Victorian coast, and by her love of simple household collections of special items, or flowers or produce grown in her garden.

Jo has had her work shown in many group exhibitions since 2021, and has been selected as a finalist in a number of national art prizes. Her first solo exhibition, Around the Table, was held with the Corner Store Gallery in September 2024.

This painting was inspired by the strong sunlight of a Spring day, a welcome return to longer and warmer days after the cold of a Victorian coastal Winter. Patterned fabrics in fresh Spring colours catch the shadow of a cup and saucer sitting in the sun.
